Naestor

Simone Sinagra (b. 1984, Lentini, Italy) is a musician, performer, and music producer. He performed as SIMON5 from 2005 to 2020 and has been known as Naestor since 2022.

He grew up in Sicily and learned guitar, piano, and drums. At 19 he moved to Miami, discovered dance music, and began DJing. To combine performance with electronic music he pioneered a hybrid format that brought live instruments into DJ sets.

In 2006, at Mynt Lounge in Miami, he debuted the format playing a Roland SPD6 electronic drum pad live over his tracks. The performance earned him the nickname “DJ Live Concert.” Between 2009 and 2020, performing as SIMON5, he completed over 450 live shows worldwide.

His production work includes “Butterfly” featuring Adam Clay (Molto Recordings / Warner Music Italy), “Sweet Melody” (Bliss.Co), and “Move Your Body” by Eiffel65, which reached the Beatport Electro House Top 100 in February 2016. He has also released remixes of “Gravity” (Sume Music Rec.) and “Look Up to the Sky” (Joys Rec.).

In summer 2016 he served as the official opening DJ for four Vasco Rossi concerts during the Live Kom ’016 tour at Rome’s Stadio Olimpico.

In January 2021, after a 20-month hiatus, he retired the SIMON5 name and relaunched his career as Naestor. He performs with a custom LED electric drum kit of his own design alongside a MIDI guitar. His 2023 single “Happiness” has surpassed one million Spotify streams.
